This site describes the compliance services Home & Rental Compliance Services provides. Nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance, and the rates on the pricing page are indicative only — what you are charged is what the engagement terms for your agency say.

Sending an enquiry does not create an agreement, an account, or any obligation on either side. It puts your enquiry in front of the office.

The engagement

Compliance work is performed under the engagement terms agreed with your agency at onboarding. Those terms govern the service — scope, rates, invoicing, access, liability and termination — and prevail over anything written on this website.

If you are an existing client and want a copy of your engagement terms, ask the office and we will send them.

What we are responsible for

Performing each check through a person licensed or registered to perform it, to the standard the relevant regulation requires; recording what was found; and putting the resulting documents on the property’s record.

We are not the rental provider and the statutory obligation is not ours. Tracking due dates, reminding you and attending on time is the service; the obligation to have the checks done remains with the rental provider, and where an agency does not act on a reminder we cannot discharge it for them.

Certificates

Certificates of Electrical Safety and gas compliance certificates are issued by the licensed person who performed the work, through the relevant regulator. HRCS does not generate, issue or lodge them. We upload each certificate against the job so that it sits with the property record.

Portal access

Access to the agency portal is by invitation only and is granted to named people at your agency. Accounts are not shared, and an account is deactivated rather than deleted when somebody leaves — which preserves the record of what they did while stopping them signing in.

You are responsible for telling us when somebody at your agency should no longer have access.
